Our Philosophy
Monireh Equine was founded upon the goal of supporting trainers and riders in their horse shopping experience by removing the frustration and hidden pitfalls that can cause any prospective buyer both unnecessary time and money. With an approach to redefine “open book” — we are equipped and prepared to yield as much information necessary to help confirm if one of our horses is the right fit for you.
When it comes to selecting prospective horses in joining the Monireh Equine Family, we focus first and foremost on safety and sound mind. From my own personal experience as an adult amateur rider, I have learned that a horse that is safe and willing — with a good mind — will take you a greater distance up the ranks; versus a horse that is solely purchased for talent.
With that said, prior to joining our family, each horse must demonstrate that it can be safely ridden by both a reasonably skilled amateur, as well as a pro-rider with a fair level of forgiveness. So, yes — our horses must exhibit a willingness to take a joke! When it comes to each horse’s disposition, we are happy to overshare for as long as you are willing to lend an ear. We will candidly share what our horses do on their very best and worst days — both in hand and in the show ring.
Furthermore, we hold equally strict standards for assessing the physical condition of each of our newcomers. All of our horses undergo a full neurological exam and come with a full set of x-rays that are never more than a year old; including a focus on the neck, back, and additional views of the legs than the typical baseline. These films are reviewed by several trusted veterinarians and available for release to buyers for their own professionals to approve.
To maintain both a sound mind and body, our horses are all kept in professional training to ensure that they are ready to take on lessons learned at home and at the show. As our horses join us, we allow them an adjustment period prior to them entering full-time work. We pride ourselves on placing great care and emphasis on solid flat work first, understanding and respecting a horse only has so many jumps in them and not overworking or over training a horse past what is required for upkeep of skill and fitness.
To conclude, we work hard to ensure and maintain an established confidence within our existing and prospective clients. We also take deep pride in humbly sharing all that we know and have learned about each one of our horses in our care, and pride ourselves in putting our horses first in all that we do at Monireh Equine — including placement in their future homes. We are a dedicated team of horsewomen first, riders second, and third, stand behind every one of our big-hearted and talented horses.
Happy Horse Shopping!
Warmly,
